 | Board of Deacons — The Board of Deacons consists of
two committees, the Levites and the Samaritans. The duties of the
Levites
are the Communion set-up, telephone intercom connections, recruitment of
ushers and coffee hour sponsors, providing rides to Church and summer camp
related activities. The duties of the Samaritans are sending greeting cards,
delivery of flowers, making hospital and home visitations, food preparation
and delivery, and keeping in telephone contact with members in need. All of
these duties are done on a regular basis as needed.
 | Ministry of Care and Compassion — Five of our Deacons are referred to as
the Samaritans, who have
the responsibility of giving care to members who are either shut-in, in nursing home, senior and/or living alone.
As often as possible our caregivers, first and foremost remember them in their
prayers, make phone calls, send notes, cards, and sometimes e-mails. They also
assist on occasion with any needed chores or rides and make regular visitation
upon need or request. Meals are prepared to help in needy situations. |
