Reverend Thomas W. Pinnel graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1967. He served at the Willingboro Presbyterian Church from 1967 to 1969, then at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill NJ from 1969 to 1977. Reverend Pinnel served South Presbyterian Church for 31 years. At the Meeting of the Congregation on September 7, 2008, the Congregation accepted the resignation of Rev. Pinnel and voted to recommend the status of Honorably Retired. Further, upon recommendation from the Session, it was also voted to seek approval from the Presbytery of the Palisades to grant him the title of Pastor Emeritus of South Presbyterian Church.
Reverend Pinnel served as moderator of the Presbytery of West Jersey and has been commissioner to the General Assembly. He served as Moderator of the Presbytery of the Palisades. He was active in the local Clergy Association and in many Civic programs in Bergenfield, and is enjoying his retirement in Florida.
